As a component of the University's 安全 and 环保合规 program the 消防安全 program directly impacts every facility, department and individual. 几个 sources can be found to provide standards, or Codes as they are better known for providing a 消防安全 Program framework. The National 火 Protection Association primarily serves as the industry expert and source for 火 Codes. 设计与施工 of buildings and structures, testing of building components and accessories, and the enforcement of regulations pertaining to Life 安全 from fire and other related hazards encountered in buildings and structures are addressed by specific 火 Code requirements.
A fire 安全 inspection program is vital to the success of the overall 安全 and 环保合规 program. Annually each building or structure is evaluated by the University's 火 Marshal and department representatives to identify unsafe conditions or deficiencies related to current codes and regulations. 措施 then taken as necessary for a building or structure to meet a reasonable level of 安全. Architectural drawings of renovations and new construction in relationship to applicable fire codes and occupancy loads are reviewed by the 安全 and Environmental 合规消防队长.
The 火 Marshal serves as the University's liaison to local and state 火 Department officials, provides oversight to 火 drills and investigates reported building fires 在所有大学校园.
